The Story

W10131825 Oven Temperature Sensor Replacement

Key Features

  • Accurately detects and communicates internal oven temperatures to the control board for consistent thermal regulation.
  • Constructed with a high-grade stainless steel probe to ensure thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance.
  • Equipped with a standardized 2-pin quick-connect wiring harness for efficient electrical termination.
  • Precision-calibrated to provide a resistance of approximately 1080–1100 ohms at room temperature (approx. 70°F).

Replaces / Cross-Reference Part Numbers

  • EAP11748765
  • AWP49235

Compatibility & Fitment

  • Compatible with Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, and Amana ranges and ovens.
  • Fits built-in wall ovens, freestanding electric ranges, and gas convection models.
  • Designed for use in both upper and lower oven cavities in double-oven configurations.

When to Replace

  • Appliance displays temperature-related error codes (e.g., F3, F3-E0, F3-E1, or F3-E2).
  • Oven fails to reach the set temperature or significantly overshoots the desired heat level.
  • Baking or roasting results are inconsistent, leading to unevenly cooked or burnt food.
  • Oven does not heat at all despite the display and controls appearing functional.
  • Multimeter testing reveals the sensor is "open" (no continuity) or provides readings outside the 1000–1200 ohm range.

Installation Tips

  • Ensure the appliance is disconnected from the power source (unplugged or breaker tripped) before beginning.
  • Remove oven racks to provide clear access to the rear of the oven cavity.
  • Use a 1/4-inch nut driver or hex head wrench to remove the two screws mounting the sensor to the back wall.
  • Pull the sensor and its wiring harness forward until the plastic connector is visible; if it does not pull through, access the connector via the rear panel of the range.
  • Depress the locking tab on the connector to release the old sensor and snap the new unit into place.
  • Re-insert the wiring into the insulation hole and secure the probe flush against the wall with the mounting screws.
