Compatibility & Fitment

  • Compatible with Viking professional-grade gas ranges and built-in ovens.
  • Suitable for use in both bake and broil burner systems.
  • Fits various 30-inch, 36-inch, 48-inch, and 60-inch range models.
  • Designed for high-BTU burner applications requiring consistent ignition performance.

When to Replace

  • Oven fails to heat or the main burner does not ignite after several minutes.
  • Igniter glows but does not reach the required temperature to open the gas safety valve.
  • Visible cracks, localized pitting, or physical breakage on the silicon carbide heating element.
  • Gas odor is present without ignition during the start-up cycle.
  • Multimeter testing indicates an open circuit (no continuity) through the igniter leads.

Installation Tips

  • Disconnect the power supply and shut off the gas valve before performing any service.
  • Handle the new igniters by the ceramic base only; avoid touching the black heating element to prevent premature failure from skin oils.
  • If the original connector does not match, use the included ceramic wire nuts to splice the new igniter leads to the existing oven wiring.
  • Ensure all wire connections are tucked away from direct contact with the burner flame or sharp metal edges.
  • Verify the igniter is positioned so that the heating element is directly in the path of the gas flow from the burner ports.
