Compatibility & Fitment

  • Designed for dual motor run applications to power a compressor and a fan motor.
  • Used in HVAC systems, central air conditioners, heat pumps, and condenser units.
  • Compatible with systems requiring either a 370 VAC or 440 VAC capacitor.

When to Replace

  • Compressor or fan motor fails to start.
  • A humming sound is audible from the unit without the motor engaging.
  • Existing capacitor shows physical signs of failure such as bulging, cracking, or leaking oil.
  • Measured capacitance is outside the specified tolerance range.

Installation Tips

  • Disconnect all electrical power to the unit before beginning work.
  • Safely discharge the old capacitor by shorting the terminals with an insulated tool.
  • Note the wire placement on the old capacitor's terminals (C, FAN, HERM) before disconnecting.
  • The new capacitor's MFD rating must match the original.
  • The new capacitor's voltage rating must be equal to or greater than the original.
